DESCRIPTION
Luna is the results of experimentation with some of our favorite flavors combined with cutting edge brewing process to create a truly unique beer. This complex lager uses a proprietary yeast strain that unlocks massive amounts of thiols, an aromatic compound responsible for big tropical fruit flavor typically found in Sauvignon Blanc wines.
Starting with a simple grist of Pilsner and Wheat, we layered in flavor with mash hops, then fermented cold and slow with thiolized lager yeast and finished with Zappa hops and soft Meyer Lemon prior to layering.
The end result pours a hazy yellow with a white foam cap. Big aromas leap from the glass. Bright grapefruit peel and passionfruit dominate with a dank herbal undertone. The flavor is equally bombastic; each sip is defined by interactions between herbal hops, zippy tartness from the lemon and sweet, fruity notes from the thiols. With a light body and moderate carbonation, Luna drinks easy for a beer this intensely flavored and kaleidoscopic.
